Meet our Doctors

Rachel

Pamela Lynch, O.D.

I feel so blessed to be able to come back “home” to continue my optometry career and provide quality eye care to Manistee County.  I am very much looking forward to continuing the friendly neighborhood eye doctor tradition Drs. Veach and Allen have become well known for while also adding new technology and my own personalized touch to the practice.

I grew up in Brethren and much of my family still resides in the surrounding areas.  During high school, I was very active in sports, academics and volunteer programs all year round in the small town.  After graduating from Brethren High School in 2004, I moved on to Central Michigan University to pursue my undergraduate studies.  I received my Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences in 2008. In 2012, I earned my doctorate at the Michigan College of Optometry at Ferris State University.

Over the years, my husband, Larry, traveled with me throughout the state and even Ohio as I completed externships at Battle Creek VA, Henry Ford OptimEyes and the Duane Waters Hospital. I gained invaluable experience in the optometric field.  I have had the privilege to work at medically-oriented ophthalmology clinics and progressive optometry practices. Having the flexibility and autonomy of private practice has always been a goal of mine.  I strive to provide top quality comprehensive eye care, ranging from pediatrics to specialty contact lenses. I also practice full-scope optometry with treatment of medical eye conditions such as diabetes, glaucoma, dry eye and macular degeneration.  The ability to build lasting relationships with my patients in this type of setting is a top priority. I am beyond excited to share this new venture with my patients, family and friends.

When not at the office, you can find us spending time with our young children, Reese and Bennett, often playing outdoors with our dog, Lila.  Exploring the world through their eyes has brought us so much happiness. We are looking forward to all the future will bring.

Dr. Allen

Brian Allen, O.D.

Dr. Allen’s interest in the environment led him to reside in the Bear Lake area since arriving in Manistee to practice Optometry. As an avid birder he participated in the acquisition of the Audubon House on Lakeshore Drive. The Nature Conservancy had his help in acquiring beautiful land that will remain in its natural state and enjoyed by future generations. Dr. Allen’s wife, Maripat, is a published playwright and often found acting on the Ramsdell Theatre stage. Both of his sons graduated from Onekama schools, college and now pursue careers in the non-profit sector and creative arts. Dr. Allen is a leading birder with national standing. He is in high demand for lectures and guiding exotic birding expeditions.

In the five brief years that Felicia has been working for Drs. Veach and Allen she has proven herself to be an exceptionally patient and soft-spoken team member. She has rapidly developed the skills needed to help with contact lens care and fitting eyeglasses. Her youth provides fresh perspective and enthusiasm. You may see this mild-mannered young lady long-boarding on the streets of Manistee. “Awesome.”
